The format is specifically tailored to the unique needs of young men preparing for full-time missionary service in the LDS Church, those who return early, and for those returning from missions who continue to struggle. This group is also appropriate for single young adult men who may not desire to serve a full-time mission for the LDS Church, but still struggle with pornography and other unwanted sexual behaviors.
This is an open treatment group, which means that participants can start immediately and join an existing group of other guys already in recovery. This allows seasoned participants to mentor younger members and build a healthy support network, which is an essential part of long-term recovery.
Groups are led by licensed therapists who specialize in treating pornography and sexually compulsive behaviors. Using workbooks, videos, lectures, small group discussions, and other activities, participants complete assignments and exercises to help them overcome their unwanted behaviors. Participants will complete 8 workbooks, 50-plus assignments, and discussions led by the group therapist. Additionally, group members will have weekly accountability in a safe, uplifting, and confidential setting.
Length:
The group meets weekly for 1 hour and lasts approximately 6 months. A participant can graduate from the program when he's completed all of the tasks and assignments.
Cost:
Cost for the group is $140 per month plus a one-time materials fee of $100.
